If you do want to tank, it will require a bit more prep since even on lower-level keys, you want want to know the general route you're taking for each dungeon, but it's not a monumental problem to tackle.

Some people will freak out if you mess up because they're assholes, but anyone sweating super hard and getting mad in low-level keys is just a dick and/or mad that they can't improve enough to run harder content themselves. If you want to ~git gud~ and try to significantly improve, the key is that you need to actually want and try to improve-any time you noticeably mess up, ask yourself "what did I do wrong?" and try to correct it in the future. Once you're comfortable with just doing low-level keys, continue to familiarize yourself with the affixes and start running increasingly difficult keys to get used to the harder content.

Low-level M+ keys aren't especially difficult in the grand scheme of things, but they're a great way to get yourself used to running content that's more challenging than heroic dungeons. If you're at all interested in running content like M+ (and I do recommend it it's a ton of fun and pretty much the only thing I've played WoW for since late Legion), just go for it.
